ಇಷ್ಟಲಿಂಗ ಪೂಜೆ ಮೂರ್ತಿ ಪೂಜೆ ಅಲ್ಲ ... worship of Istaliga (Istalingapuje) is not Idol worship

ಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ಇಷ್ಟಲಿಂಗ ಪೂಜೆ ಅನ್ನೋದು ಒಂದು ಮೂರ್ತಿಪೂಜೆ ಅನ್ನೋ ಕಲ್ಪನೆ ಬೇರೂರಿದೆ, ಇದು ಸುಶಿಕ್ಷಿತರನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟಿಲ್ಲ, ಇದು ತಪ್ಪು ತಿಳುವಳಿಕೆಯಾಗಿದೆ. ಮೂರ್ತಿಪೂಜೆ ಮಾಡಬೇಕೋ ಬಿಡಬೇಕೋ ಅನ್ನೋ ಗೋಜಿಗೆ ಹೋಗದೆ ಇಷ್ಟಲಿಂಗ ಪೂಜೆಯು ಮೂರ್ತಿಪೂಜೆ ಅಲ್ಲ . ಇಷ್ಟಲಿಂಗವು ಮೂರ್ತಿ ಎಂಬ ಭ್ರಮೆಯನ್ನ  ಪರಿಹರಿಸೋದು ಈ ಬರಹದ ಮುಖ್ಯ ಗುರಿ. ಲಿಂಗಾಯತ  ಅಥವಾ ಬಸವಧರ್ಮಕ್ಕೆ ಮೂರ್ತಿ ಪೂಜೆಯ ಅವಶ್ಯಕತೆ ಇಲ್ಲಾ ಅನ್ನೋವಾದ  ೧೦೦ ಕ್ಕೆ ೧೦೦ ಪಟ್ಟು ಸತ್ಯ. ಆದರೆ ಇಷ್ಟಲಿಂಗ ಪೂಜೆ ಮೂರ್ತಿ ಪೂಜೆಗೆ ಹೊರತಾದುದು, ಇದು ಲಿಂಗಾಯತ ಧರ್ಮಿಯರ ಉಪಾಸ್ಯ ವಸ್ತು , ನಿರಾಕಾರ ನಿರಯವನಾದ ಪರಮಾತ್ಮನ ಸಾಕಾರ; ಗೋಲಾಕಾರದ, ವಿಶ್ವದ ಆಕಾರದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಸಾಕಾರ ರೂಪದ, ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ ಸಮಾನತೆ ಸ್ಥಾಪನೆಯ ಕುರುಹೇ ಹೊರತು ಯಾವುದೊ ವ್ಯೆದಿಕ ಪರಂಪರೆಯ ಅಥವಾ ಧ್ಯೆವಿಪುರುಶನ ಕುರುಹಲ್ಲ ಇಷ್ಟಲಿಂಗ.

೧. ಇಷ್ಟಲಿಂಗಕ್ಕೆ ಸರ್ವಸಮ್ಮತ, ವ್ಯೆಜ್ಞಾನಿಕ, ತಾತ್ವಿಕ  ಹಿನ್ನೆಲೆ ಇದೆ, ಇದು ನಿರ್ಗಣೋಪಾಸನೆಗೆ ಸಾದನ, ನಿರ್ಗುಣದ ಸಾಕಾರ, ಆದರೆ ಮೂರ್ತಿ ಪೂಜೆಯು ಸಗುಣದ ಸಾಕಾರ ವಿಷ್ಣು, ಶಿವ, ರಾಮ ಮೊದಲಾದ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ  ಮೂರ್ತಿಗಳಿಗೆ ನಿರಾಕಾರ ಕಲ್ಪನೆ ಕೊಡಲು ಬರೋದಿಲ್ಲ ಅಂತೆಯೇ ವ್ಯೆಜ್ಞಾನಿಕ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವಾ ಬೆಲೆಯೂ ಇಲ್ಲಾ.

೨. ಇಷ್ಟಲಿಂಗ ಪೂಜೆ ಸ್ವರೂಪ ಪೂಜೆ ಇದಕ್ಕೆ ಬಸವಲಿಂಗ ಶರಣರ ಪದ್ಯವೇ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ.
ಮುನ್ನನಾದಿಯ ಪರಾತ್ಪರ ನಿರಂಜನ ಶರಣ
ತನ್ನ ಹುರ್ತ್ಕಮಲದ ಪರಂಜ್ಯೋತಿ ಲಿಂಗವನು
ಭಿನ್ನವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ವಾಮಕರಕಂಜದೊಳು ಪಿಡಿದು ತನ್ನ ತಾನರ್ಚಿಸುತಿಹ !
ಹೀಗೆ ಇಷ್ಟಲಿಂಗ ಪೂಜೆ  ಸ್ವರೂಪ ಪೂಜೆ , ಮೂರ್ತಿ ಪೂಜೆ ಪ್ರತಿಕೋಪಾಸನೆ ಅಂದರೆ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯ ಪ್ರತೀಕವಾಗಿ ಮೂರ್ತಿಯನ್ನ ಮಾಡಿ ಪೂಜಿಸುವುದು. ಇದು ಇಷ್ಟಲಿಂಗ ಪೂಜೆಯಂತೆ ಅಂತರಾತ್ಮನ ಪೂಜೆಯಾಗಿರದೆ ಯಾವುದೊ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯ ಮೂರ್ತಿ ಪೂಜೆ ಆಗಿರುತ್ತೆ.

೩. ಇಷ್ಟಲಿಂಗ ಪರಮಾತ್ಮನ ಕುರುಹಿನ ಪೂಜೆ,
ಎನ್ನ ಕರಸ್ಥಲದ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಪರಮ ನಿರಂಜನದ
ಕುರುಹು ತೋರಿದ
 ಈ ವಚನದಿಂದ ಇಷ್ಟಲಿಂಗವು ಪರಮ ನಿರಂಜನದ ಕುರುಹು ಎಂದೂ, ಇಷ್ಟಲಿಂಗ ಪೂಜೆ ಸ್ವರೂಪ ಪೂಜೆಯ ಸಿದ್ದವಸ್ತುವಾಗಿದೆ, ಪರಶಿವನ (ಸೃಷ್ಟಿಕರ್ತನ) ಇರುಹಿನ ನೆಲೆಯ  ತೋರುವ ಕುರುಹಿದು.

ಸುಜ್ಞಾನಯುತ ಸದ್ಭಕ್ತಿ ಸಮ್ಮಿಲನ                               ಕೆಲೊವೊಮ್ಮೆ ಮುಢಭಕ್ತಿಯ  ಪ್ರೇರಣೆ
ಏಕದೆವೋಪಾಸನೆ                                                ಬಹುದೇವೋಪಾಸನೆ
ಅಂಗದ ಮೇಲೆ ಅಂಗ್ಯೆಯಲಿಟ್ಟು ಪೂಜಿಸುವಂತದ್ದು           ಗುಡಿ, ದೇಗುಲ, ಮಂಟಪ ದಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟು ಪೂಜಿಸುವಂತದ್ದು..


In general and even at well-educated a misconception is going on that worship of Istaliga (Istalingapuje) is one type of Idol worship. There is not necessity to think about idol worship because Istalinga worship is not at all Idol worship. Main intension of this writing is to clear off the illusion of Istalinga worship as Idol worship. It is cent percent true Idol worship is not at all necessary to Lingayat religion or Basava Dhrama there. Italinga is not a symbol of divine personality or Vedic culture; it is symbol of inception social equality. Istalinga is nothing but representation of formless God; it is the only worship able by Lingayat religious people of the shape of round as universe.

1. Istalinga has universal acceptable, scientific, ethical background; it is instrument for worship formless, form of formless. There is no significance in the scientific view for the worship of Individuals such as Vishnu, Shiva, Rama and others, as they are unable to give concept of formless.

2. Worship of Istalinga is worship of being, for this we can refer the following Vachana of Basavalinga

So Istalinga worship is worship of existence of self, Idol worship is worship of someone else. Idol worship never matches the Istalinga Worship which is the worship of inners self only.
